Why we created Kove

We are reimagining modern midwifery to provide the gold standard of care for women throughout their pregnancy journey and beyond.

Parenthood is a major life milestone. We honour it by giving parents everything they need - not just the bare minimum.

Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers - strong competent and capable - mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strenght.

We recognise and welcome all gender expressions of birthing people and parents to be.

Who are we?

Ali

Co-founder and Medical Illustrator

A medical illustrator best known for pioneering the 3D representation of the clitoris. Through this work, she uncovered the deep cultural stigma and lack of body confidence that many women carry. In her own mental health journey she discovered how important early years are in forming meaningful relationships later in life, giving her a passion to heal her own experiences, and hope to do better for future generations.

This drive, combined with a frustration that despite decades of research into positive affects of continuity, no action was being taken. Ali decided to build the service she wished had existed: grounded in evidence, respect and compassion.

Sarah

Co-founder & Commercial Officer, Mother of 2

A mother of two who has experienced maternity care in both France and the UK. During her first pregnancy, she longed for the kind of midwifery-led follow-up that's standard in France. Instead, she relied on private GP care to find continuity and support, especially during the vulnerable postpartum period. That support proved transformative—helping her move through anxiety and thrive in early motherhood. Sarah is now determined to make this level of care accessible to more women, by working alongside the NHS rather than around it

A commercial professional with a background in real estate private equity and climate investment, Sarah began her career managing a €1bn portfolio of commercial real estate across Europe. She later led commercial expansion at a fast-growing climate-tech startup, and along the way created a guide to help managers better support mothers returning to work. She holds an MSc in Management from EMLyon and will soon begin an MSc in Women’s Health at UCL.

Clarissa

Co-founder and Lead Midwife

A senior midwife at UCLH who has seen the best and the limits of NHS maternity care. She witnessed how rushed, impersonal appointments could leave women feeling anxious, unsupported—and sometimes even traumatised. Clarissa is passionate about practising midwifery differently: with time, trust, and deep respect for each woman's choices. Her goal is to empower women on their journey to birth through continuity, compassion, and evidence-based care.A medical illustrator best known for pioneering the 3D representation of the clitoris. We work with the NHS

The NHS has some of the best medical minds, but also the some of the biggest shortages. We collaborate, filling the essential gaps it can't provide and collaborating in areas where it shines.

The NHS is trying is best, but there are still huge gaps.
